![]() Alexander's Fine DiningAlexander's Fine Dining, an 80-seat dining and banquet hall, is a tribute to Alexander von Humboldt,
the famous German botanist and explorer for whom the town of Humboldt is named. Hanging in this large, Federalist period dining hall is a commissioned painting depicting
a meeting between Humboldt and Thomas Jefferson at Monticello in 1804. This striking original was painted by Kansas artist Larry Armstrong. ![]() Also adorning the walls are elegant hurricane sconces, and from the copper-colored, embossed-tin ceiling hangs European replicas of Georgian-era brass chandeliers.
Below the painting of Humboldt and Jefferson sits a walnut with cherry inlay table featuring cabriole legs. The table was custom made for the Bailey at
Neosho Valley Woodworks by artisan Pat Haire.
